During the time I was staying in the Maali’s Music School two baby twins where born in the compound. By tradition a name giving ceremony is held seven days after the birth. That happened to be the 24th of December so it was a nice way to spend the christmas evening on.

It all started in the morning with shaving of the babies hair, kola nuts and prayer. Then a porridge was served with some sweet goat milk. After that the music was put on and the festivites continued with the women singin and dancing, children running about and so on. Later some nice food was served and in the late afternoon the mama africa band played for everybody.
