A purple trombone

On my three month stay in the Gambia, I wanted of course to bring with me a trombone. I thought the plastic pBone would be great for that. It’s lightweight and quite durable to use on a trip like this. I got in contact with Brass-specialisten in Stockholm and I got a nice deal on the pBone from them. My idea was to introduce this instrument to the people that I meet and to play with other musicians.

The pBone worked fine and I joined the Mama Africa band for some of their programs (gigs). It was fun to play together the kids with it also. Thanks Brass-specialisten for the support. In the end I decided to leave the trombone at Maali’s Music School. I heard from Alagi later, that it works great as a wake-up alarm in the morning.

Here is a sound from a jam session with the students at Maali’s Music School.
